“I purchased my Alpha-stim 18 months ago to help with anxiety and long covid symptoms (palpitations, brain fog, light and sound sensitivity). i started on 1.5 strength for 40 mins every day, then changed to 2.5 strength for 40 mins 5 times a week after a couple of months which I’ve maintained. I didn’t get any immediate effects (apart from being a bit dizzy if you have it too powerful!) but after around 3-4 months I noticed a difference in my anxiety levels. I used to have hormonal related anxiety periods frequently and they have got fewer and fewer over the months. Now 18 months down the line they happen much less frequently and not as intense as they used to be. “I have had long term difficulty in sleeping. Either I couldn't get to sleep or I fell asleep and then wake up at maybe 4:00am and can't get back to sleep. I have of course tried all the usual herbal and other remedies. They work for a night but are probably not good to use regularly
I have now used an Alpha-Stim last thing at night to help me get to sleep. What works best for me is to do a 20 minute Alpha-Stim programme while listening to a soothing meditation or soothing music. This works better for me than the Alpha-Stim on its own because silence tends to leave too much space for my thoughts to run wild.
And the results. I definitely sleep a lot better. I fall asleep most nights as soon the Alpha-Stim program has finished and often sleep through the night. I have also significantly reduced my usage of herbal sleep aids. I am happy to have the 20 minute Alpha-Stim programme as the regular last thing I do before sleep.
It took me some time to register that the Alpha-Stim was working. I gave up after a few weeks but then immediately noticed that my sleep deteriorated when not using the Alpha-Stim so now I use it almost every night.

“So I bought the Alpha stim aid a few weeks ago. The first time of use I set it for 20mins at number 2 although instructions recommended 2.5. I felt a slight sensation but not uncomfortable. I then used it for about 10 days in a row and now twice weekly at 40 mins setting 2. On use and afterwards for several hours I felt really calm, not sleepy but a feeling of calmness. My fitbit has shown a higher sleep score with more deep sleep and REM than before use. It’s very easy to operate although I find the ear clips a bit flimsy and they can easily slip off if you are moving around. I bought it to help Fibromyalgia pain and sleep, as well as anxiety.
If I'm in pain at bedtime I put the AS on ,ear clips, about 1hr before bed and it really helps calm down my pain.

Cons; batteries only last me 2 weeks. I think with newer models it would be good to have a USB chargeable battery.

“My spinal cord and both nerve root exits were badly compressed so it affected every nerve and muscle in my body. I have had 2 operations to try and take the pressure of my spinal cord but I was left with bad nerve damage. I have been on very high pain medication and it has helped me to cope with the pain as best I could. I belong to a pain support group that were offerered a trial of the Alpha-Stim in Feb this year. I signed up to it as I am more than happy to try anything that could help with the pain. “I am using the machine to reduce the pain in my lower back which is caused by age related general wear on my disks at the bottom of my spine ( L5 region) due to many years of computer use. I felt a significant improvement in my back pain during the first session when using the probes as instructed in your literature and I have used the device either every day or every other day ever since purchase and the pain has remained at a very low level most of the time. I have used the earclips also, and again I felt the benefits in the areas for which the device is designed. I use it daily and find that it is convenient although the duracell batteries do not seem to last very long. I initially tried to use the probes in an effort to reduce tinnitus and TRIED to follow your technical guide. I found that there seems to be an ambiguity in that probe positions are shown on the ear lobe but the instructions say put the probes "an inch or so from the ear" Regarding the website, I noticed that at one point the current being passed through the body was said to be 500 amps (I cannot find the reference now ) . as a retired electrical engineer I am aware that you mean 500 microamps !!! The unit is rather expensive and I had some misgivings before buying about the fact that under the rent to buy scheme I would not be able to be certain that it worked before I bought it. Anyway I took a chance and I am glad that I did so.”
